He knew that name; ranger registry.

He tried to remember as many as he could even if he couldn't always meet each of them.

"Whats your rank Ranger?"

He waited with his arms behind his back not unlike how soliders did.

Anyone would know the name that blinked before her: Crimsen. Though she'd never been in contact with him, any member of the League would be foolish to not acknowledge the Head Ranger. Still, Caroline didn't shy away from introductions. If anything, it was an opportunity to display her talents and reach a more suitable rank than... this.

"Cadet." Caroline stated firmly, her gaze steadily meeting Crimsen's. "But it hardly suits my abilities and extensive background in leadership and Pokemon rehabilitation."

He liked the grit she showed in answering a question that was supposed to be just one word.

"If you got skills Foster the rank and the work will find you, don't worry about that."

He stared her down, drilling the moment into her mind. His hand disappeared behind his back and with a flick of the wrist; his pokémon landed the beach with a soft thud.

"Today, the only skills that matter are for battle-based."

If Caroline had any less tact, she might have rolled her eyes to the response. Of course the rank and work would find her, but she'd quickly argue that her resume should be enough to skip the line. [break][break]

"I'm not worried." Was her shortened response, accompanied with a half-hearted shrug. "I'll gladly show you what I'm capable of." Following his lead, she drew a pokeball from her waist and tossed it lightly to the beach. A much heavier thud accompanied the Tyranitar as it landed. [break][break]

Her tyranitar seemed to leave small quakes in its step, or maybe he was just projecting.

Babysaur wasn't really a baby anymore but he was a little small for his age and still wildly young.

Also, wildly aggressive against bigger pokémon.

If his life was endangered Sénon would call off the fight but for now he was going to put the growing grass type through its paces.

When given the official all clear to start the bulbasaur wasted no time. "Baby use-" Attacking the giant dragon head on before Sénon could order against it.

Babysaur used TAKEDOWN!

Tyranitar against Bulbasaur. Caroline would have felt bad for the pair-up, if she hadn't already swore to herself long ago to never underestimate the chaotic capabilities of small creatures. She'd been the unfortunate janitor to quite a few of those situations. [break][break]

Titan released a rumbling roar as he faced his opponent. His competitive spirit equaled the determination of Caroline's heart, but he seemed almost embarrassed to be placed against a miniature toy.[break][break]

Even more so when the Bulbasaur threw its squishable brain against his plated stomach. Titan stumbled, but he seemed more irritated than harmed. Was it even fair to pull out the hard-hitting fang attacks now? She wanted to show her skills to Crimsen, but this seemed almost humilitating to her and her own capabilities.[break][break]

"Titan, EARTHQUAKE." The ground began to rumble, crack, and break as it fell apart beneath the strong-footed stomping of Tyranitar.[break][break]

It seemed the Head Ranger was in need of battling more frequently.

As much as he spent with his pokémon he hardly battled any more. It seemed his pokémon with the most personalities tended to develop a need to do things their own way.

Not unlike how Sénon liked to do things his own way. He watched Baby take another attempt at toppling the massive mountain of an opponent he had before him with a more powerful take down attempt.

Babysaur used DOUBLE-EDGE!

Babysaur fainted!

Somehow baby had gotten himself worked up enough to knock himself out against the tyranitar. Luckily Foster clearly wanted a real challenge. "How about we make this a double Foster?" He called out his next pokémon.

Essentially proclaiming he could make a sweep against her Tyranitar and her next pokémon.

A battle with the Head Ranger should have left Caroline feeling satisfied and smug, but watching the Bulbasaur knock itself out sparked frustration, instead. This surely must have been a joke? A method of lulling her into a false sense of security. Even Tyranitar, poking and prodding the fainted Bulbasaur, seemed insulted.[break][break]

Despite the frustration festering inside, she held her poison-tipped tongue as Crimsen released a new Pokemon in a flash of bright light. Now, this looked more her speed. "A double, huh? Why don't I toss a bone and you bring out one more of your Pokemon, too. It's only fair, isn't it?"[break][break]

She then pulled a ball from her belt and released Crobat.

Well Baby hadn't made the best show of their skills but Foster seemed to almost let her guard down, not even the Zeraora's appearance made her sweat.

She was going to need to learn humilty if she was going to be counted on help people and pokémon through their natural conflicts.

Or perhaps she already had everything she needed and she was just a overtly confident person. Sénon could identify.

Zeraora spit on the ground and crossed his arms.

He'd moved past rejecting Sénon outright and now merely served up attitude whenever possible.

Right now however, the skinny human and her big slow thing of a pokémon, took up the focus of Zeraora's arrogance.

The Head Ranger was still working out the kinks in the Zeraora's temperament but for this battle, a little competitive flare would be helpful for a good showing from both his new pokémon and his new ranger.

Crossing his arms as Zeraora did, Sénon made the offer.

"Finish this fight Foster, and I'll name you a full blown Ranger."
